From it's modest headwaters in the Mountains of Northeast Georgia, the Chattahoochee River makes a magnificent 500 mile march to the Gulf of Mexico where it enters thru the Apalachicola Bay. Along her course, fish and fishermen alike find a welcome home in a place like no other. From trout in it's northern stretches, to bass, stripers, catfish and such, the fishing diversity is only matched by the diversity of the fishermen that line the shoreline and paddle her flow.
The most actively visited section of the Chattahoochee is the 48 mile stretch of river known as the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. This section of the river runs directly thru the city of Atlanta and brings a world class trout fishery and burgeoning striper fishery to the citizens of Atlanta. And when we speak of world class, it's worth noting the current state record brown trout of 18lbs was caught in this stretch of the Chattahoochee!
