Hollis Q. Lathem Reservoir

Hollis Q Lathem Reservoir was created by impounding
Yellow Creek by the Cherokee County Water & Sewer Authority to
augment the fresh drinking water needs of the citizens of Cherokee
County. Construction on the project started in 1997 and filling of the
reservoir began in 1999.
The lake is 334 Acres, has 15 miles of
shoreline and an average depth of 35 feet. The deepest point is 102
feet.
Lathem is stocked with Largemouth Bass, Bream, Shell
Cracker and Catfish. Crappie are also available but have not been
stocked and are thought to have entered the reservoir thru Yellow Creek.
The lake is not known for large fish but is respected for holding large
numbers of fish increasing the anglers odds of catching.
