Youth Kayak, Fish & Field Day w/ PAL

Alpharetta PAL, Alpharetta Police Athletic/Activities League, offers area youth a unique opportunity to develop skill sets which are commensurate with real world professional and personal growth. Engaged with P4T volunteers, PAL youth leaders will participate in environmentally friendly activities such as kayaking, fishing, swimming and beachside activities.  Just as importantly, PAL youth leaders will receive instruction on sustainable outdoor practices and participate in clean up activities (commonly referred to as kitchen privileges) from lunch. A significant focus of the day will include litter mitigation, pick up where necessary, responsible disposal and the sorting of recyclables with the P4T mobile recycling collection center.

*Due to the size of the P4T fleet and number of water chaperons, a group of 20 will be divided into TWO groups; A & B. Equal time will be allowed for each group that includes educational programming, kayaking and beachside activities.

    Proposed Itinerary

        • Arrive Friday (at your leisure)
        • Chow time will be 6pm (ish). Pot luck so bring some chow to share. An evening of campfire/fishermen story telling. We suggest tall boots!
        • Saturday. Early breakfast – pack a lunch from the supplies. All day on the water. Carry some drinking water/ snacks/other drinks/sun shade.
        • Dinner at camp. 6 or 7pm. Stories of those who fought a shark or a red should entertain us most of the night.
        • Sunday. Early breakfast  – paddle a bit – Break camp and head home.

    Food

We have good cooks in GKF. And we hope you like to eat. We always have too much food and work hard to make it taste better than you’d expect. Plus, its just hard to go wrong when you’re cooking over an open hardwood fire. Set your sights high for this!
