Lake Acworth

Lake Acworth, located in Cobb County, is a favorite locale of Lake Allatoona kayak fisherman who like to occasionally trade battling the boat traffic in search of hybrids and striper, for a more serene paddle in search of crappie and bass. Catfish and bream are also popular species in Lake Acworth. The DNR even electroshocked up a flathead catfish weighing 62 pounds!

SPECIES: Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Bream

BOATING: Electric Only

CONDITIONS: Shallow lake, mostly 6-12 feet with a few deeper pockets. Very slow current heading towards the spillway. Water is typically stained.

FORAGE: Threadfin Shad, Gizzard Shad, Crawfish
