Lake Varner

800 acres of awesome recreational and bass fishing water designed for kayakers! Lake Varner is an electric-only lake in Covington, GA.  It is well stocked with largemouth bass, hybrid bass, bream, crappie and catfish. Newton and Walton County residence are able to use the facilities free of charge while “out-of-towners” pay a $5 fee per car and $5 fee per boat.

SPECIES: Largemouth Bass, Hybrid Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Bream

BOATING: Electric Only

CONDITIONS: Clear cut reservoir with little structure and lots of hydrilla. Little to no current. Water is typically slightly stained.

FORAGE: Threadfin Shad, Gizzard Shad
